oh, hab noch ne bessere Idee:

while (<>) {
  s/\s*$/\<BR\>/;
  print $_, "\n";
}

Das ersetzt alle [\t\n\r\f] vor dem Zeilenende.
Im Gegensatz zum Vorhergehenden siehts sauberer aus
(Source-Code und html-Text).
