kleine Auflösungen mit Xfree86

Hallo,

ich würde mein X gern mal mit kleinen Auflösungen laufen lassen,
400x300 oder so. Die modi sind (imho) richtig in die XF86Config
eingetragen, stehen mir aber nicht zur verfügung.
Wenn ich das Xfree-log richtig deute, wird ein dcc-modul geladen,
was den Monitor dach möglichen modi fragt, und dieser gibt
als kleinste 640x480 an.
Sollten doch auch kleinere möglich sein?

Das laden des moduls manuell zu unterbinden hat nicht geklappt,
wird anscheinend über den Grafikkartentreiber geladen?

Hat jemand Tipps?
